The Problem of Clean Water

As you may or may not know by now, I have created a web page and together I intend to change the world through generosity.

The movement is very simple and it is called “Canned to Lend a Hand.”

For each person the movement takes a little different form because we are all different people.

However, the rationale behind the movement is rather straightforward: be content with what you have and become more generous.

First, once a month you choose a mealtime and you eat very reasonably. I mean straight up cheap; a can of something, e.g. Chef Boyardee. Recognize that there are millions that don’t even eat this nutritiously, recognize that there are millions that eat this same meal everyday, and then recognize that MORE don’t even get the privilege to eat at all.

Second, choose generosity. Calculate how much money you THINK you have saved by eating this cheaply and give it away to someone or to some organization that is in need. We all know of people in need or of organizations that are doing great things. Choose one and help.

Third, make this movement work for you. This is a flexible movement. Yesterday I wrote about a woman that is going to fast and give of her monies to a woman’s shelter. The purpose of this movement is not to get mired in any one specific rule, but to begin to create the space in our lives for content and generosity.

The world needs us.

Here is an organization worthy of giving to. A member of “Canned to Lend a Hand” is going to give the money he saves to make sure individuals receive clean water. A highly noble cause indeed.
